Rotary Music Garden at Charter Oak Park Fundraiser
MANCHESTER — The Rotary Club of Manchester and the town are looking for sponsors and contributors for the musical garden being installed in Charter Oak Park.
The garden is expected to open in the summer of next year and will feature nine, full-sized, all-weather, musical instruments produced by Freenotes Harmony Park in Durango, Colorado.
The garden will have walking paths, a central patio and benches, which give it a park-like atmosphere, officials said.
A video showing the design of the music garden and the placement of the instruments is available at
The Rotary Club plans to sell engraved bricks that will be used to pave the central patio as a fundraiser.
A fundraising event will also take place on Saturday, May 6, at Cheney Hall and will feature Wind Heart, a Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac tribute band.
Anyone interested in sponsoring or contributing to the music garden can call the Rotary Club at 860-559-7132 or mail a check, made out to the Manchester Rotary Club Foundation at PO Box 1, Manchester, CT 06045.
